2026 Katy Youth Symphony Summer Strings Camp!

Katy Youth Symphony is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for young musicians to grow and excel in their craft. Our camps offer a unique opportunity for students to fine-tune their skills, learn from experienced instructors, and collaborate with other talented individuals. In addition to the valuable musical education students receive at the camps, they also have the chance to showcase their talents in a concert held at the end of the session. This concert not only allows students to demonstrate their progress but also serves as a source of inspiration for the community.

Katy Youth Symphony Summer Strings Camp is a week long musical experience that offers young string musicians an opportunity to grow musically in a fun and exciting learning environment.

Participating musicians will choose between,

~ Instrument specific sectionals - with professional musicians, focusing on orchestral repertoire.

~ String-inar' electives; Music Theory , Music History.

~ Fun activities, and collaborative games!

Intermediate - Advanced rising 8th Grade / High School aged participants will have the opportunity to:

~ Develop leadership skills through structured mentorship opportunities, where they will assist younger musicians and take on leadership roles within their sections.

~ Participate in advanced ensemble coaching with experienced instructors, refining their technique, musicality, and ensemble communication.

~ Receive masterclass instruction from professional musicians, focusing on solo and orchestral repertoire, audition preparation, and performance skills.

~ Engage in chamber music and small ensemble training, allowing for more personalized instruction and collaborative performance experience.

~ Expand their musical knowledge through theory and musicianship workshops, enhancing their understanding of harmony, rhythm, and interpretation.

All Students will perform in a final concert, showcasing their progress and artistry in front of family, friends, and the community.

This program is designed to challenge and inspire students at a higher level, preparing them for future musical endeavors in college, professional settings, or personal artistic growth.

Pizza lunch will be provided for all participants on the last day of camp.

DATES: Two Sessions

Session 1: July 13th - July 17th

Session 2: July 20th - 24th

TIME: 8:30 am - 2:00 pm (daily)

LOCATION: MON - FRI Brookshire Global Methodist Church

707 Cooper Street - Brookshire, Texas 77423 

REQUIREMENTS: Open to 2nd through 12th grade string musicians with 1+ years of experience (violin, viola, cello, bass).

COST: $300 (Sibling Discounts Available)

Cancellation Policy: No refunds past July 1st, 2026 (balance may be applied to another program or camp session). Full refund available prior to that date. please email info@katyys.org for assistance.
